Saturday 27th April 2019

The second From Reason to Revolution conference, organised by Helion & Co. and sponsored by the Society of Army Historical Research, took place on Saturday, 27th April at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery.

The conference theme, "Life in the Red Coat: The British Soldier 1721-1815", was examined by eight speakers (including several SAHR members) before an audience of over sixty people. Papers explored topics ranging from eighteenth-century military pensioners and Methodism in the army to morale, desertion and the experience of battle. SAHR members enjoyed discounted rates when purchasing tickets for the event.

Dr Andrew Cormack and Eamonn O'Keeffe attended the highly successful event as representatives of Council, selling SAHR publications, conversing with prospective members and providing an update on Society initiatives.
