SAHR Fiction Prize Shortlist announced

Monday 16th September 2019

This year saw the inauguration of what is hoped to be an annual SAHR prize recognising research in fictional portrayals of the British Army. We are pleased to be able to announce that the judges have now completed their deliberations and the following titles have been shortlisted for the prize:

Lynn Bryant, An Unwilling Alliance, Self-Published
Peter Doyle, Percy: A Story of 1918, Uniform/Unicorn
Allan Mallinson, The Passage to India, Bantam
Robert Radcliffe, The Bridge, Head of Zeus
Vee Walker, Major Tom’s War, Kashi House

Congratulations to those shortlisted, and our thanks to all who entered. The standard of the entries was very high, and getting down to a shortlist of five was quite a challenge.

The winner and runner-up will be announced, and the prizes awarded, during a reception on the evening of Saturday 26 October at the Malvern Military History Festival, the organisers of which are sponsoring the prize. More details of the festival can be found here:
