Mr William Fletcher

William is a PhD candidate in the Defence Studies Department at King’s College London. His research considers the development of the Quartermaster General’s Department of the British Army during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, and in particular during the Peninsular War (1808-1814). Before starting his PhD, he read War Studies (BA) and then The History of Warfare (MA) in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. He is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of War Studies at King’s and also in the Defence Studies Department at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham. He is a committee member of the British Commission for Military History and sits on the council of the Waterloo Association.
