Dr Andrew Cormack PhD, FSA, FRHistS
Andrew Cormack took his degree in Modern History from the University of London and then took up a career in museums. He has edited The Journal of Corporal William Todd, 1745-1762 for the Army Records Society and has been a regular contributor to the JSAHR for twenty years. He compiled the second and third volumes of the index to the Journal and has served continuously on the Society’s Council since 1989. He became the Honorary Editor in July 2008 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in September 2014. He achieved his doctorate in 2017 and has published an enlarged and enhanced version of his dissertation under the title "These Meritorious Objects of the Royal Bounty" The Chelsea Out-Pensioners in the Early Eighteenth Century.
